I am the proud possessor of simultaneous, competing obsessions with running, travel, music, linguistics, and history. I grew up with my run-mates in Fitchburg, MA in a somewhat renovated chicken barn where
I developed a high-level, low-importance talent for ping-pong. I don’t like ,shoes with excessive padding.I do like books by Jonathan Safran Foer.I don’t stretchand I like running on hills. I’m a Red Sox fan, I love Scrabble, and I’m something of a socialist. Eventually, I will be a professor of linguistics or Spanish and hopefully write influential books. In Risk, I prefer North America, and the states for which I’m most excited are Oregon and South Dakota. Please feel free to e-mail me at adamlassila@gmail.com and I will be thrilled to discuss absolutely any subject with you. I hope you have a nice evening. |

Ashley Ann Galletta
Birthday: 12/19/1985
Hometown: Fitchburg, MA
Idol: “Pre”
Inspiration for run: fighting cancer
Most defective body part: asthmatic lungs
Most incredible body part: magical man calves
Post-run drink of choice: lemon lime electrolytes
Job when this run is over: Speech and Language Pathologist |
Words to run by: "I like running because it's a challenge. If you run hard, there's the pain----and you've got to work your way through the pain. You know, lately it seems all you hear is 'Don't overdo it' and 'Don't push yourself.' Well, I think that's a lot of bull.
If you push the human body, it will respond." -Bob Clark
I like thunderstorms, Malai Kofta, and chocolate in every possible form. I occasionally sport a purple toenail (or two), which has absolutely nothing to do with nailpolish. I drink a lot of tea and enjoy hot beverages immediately after they are served. My tongue has no feeling. I wear sandals in the snow. My feet have no feeling. I had foot surgery and ran the Boston Marathon within days of each other. I am ALWAYS Batbilig Chinzorig in the game of QUELF. I play guitar, impersonate Mitch Hedberg, and have attended several Irish step dancing classes through a window. I love tree tunnels. I have two sisters, curly hair, and am highly allergic to everything. I will run the length of the United States for all those fighting cancer and those who have lost their battle. I will run to remind myself and others to follow their dreams now. |

Running Sneakers: the basic Asics
Musical Influences: In 2012, if you hear Jack Johnson, Bloc Party, or
Piebald and see people running, come join us.

I like good words and good foods such as ‘incandescent’, ‘mahi-mahi’, ‘trepidation’, and ‘Mom’s homemade spaghetti and meatballs’. I think things are more enjoyable when done barefoot (most likely excluding marathons). I love the smells of FenwayPark, is that weird? Oftentimes, I tend to, when I write, abuse the comma. I’m looking forward to abusing the basic Asics in 2012. Just like everyone else, I ran the mile in 4:30 in high school. Yes, that was a Once a Runner reference.
